Much like Verifying Database Items, verifying Subjects is an important responsibility of Curators. A Curator verifies a Subject when they have reviewed it for accuracy. Verification helps maintain the integrity of data on hobbyDB.

You can tell if a Subject has been verified if you see the a blue person icon with a checkmark. If you tap or hover your cursor over the icon It will show who verified the Subject as well as the date it was verified.

If a Subject has not been verified, the icon will be black. Tapping or hovering the cursor over the icon with show that the Subject hasn't been verified yet with a link to this help page for more information:

Before verifying a Subject, make sure it meets the following criteria:

  1. Does it have at least one suitable photo? Learn more about Subject photos here.

  2. Does the Subject have a description containing at least one full sentence?

  3. Does it have the proper Subject Type assigned? In the above example, the type is "Actor." Some commonly used types are Brand, Series, Character, and others.

  4. If it needs an Identifier or Alternative Keywords, are those properly set?

If the Subject passes all these tests, click the Manage menu, then Verify.

Subjects can and should be re-verified if they have been changed since the last verification date. The Subject's Curator has the ultimate responsibility to make sure it meets the verification criteria, but any Squad member with the Curator role can verify any Subject.
