Identifiers are important to find items and also for hobbyDB to work with external systems.  hobbyDB is flexible in its system architecture allowing us to add more identifiers including highly specialized ones.  Besides Reference # and Manufacturer ID and UPCs you can find a list and explanation of the currently supported identifiers:

  • ASIN. The unique reference number Amazon gives to all its products. Note that these numbers are not unique and will be the same for some variants, most subvariants and possibly all items in a blindbox series.

  • BoxLunch #.  The barcode that the retailer BoxLunch adds to its products sold. It is particularly important for BoxLunch Exclusives as it often applies these stickers on the Manufacturer's own barcode stickers. The scanner on the hobbyDB App recognizes these.

  • Entertainment Earth #. The unique reference number Entertainment Earth gives to all its products. Note that these numbers are not unique and will be the same for some variants, most subvariants and all items in a blindbox series.

  • ISBN 10 #.  Also International Standard Book Number, this shorter ISBN was created in 1970 and phased out in 2007 in favor of the longer 13-character ISBN. The scanner on the hobbyDB App recognizes these.

  • ISBN 13 #. Also International Standard Book Number, this number is a unique 13-digit identifier for books and, since 2007, is used globally by publishers since 2007. The scanner on the hobbyDB App recognizes these.

  • Hard Rock International #.  The unique reference number that HRI sometimes adds as a barcode to its products. The scanner on the hobbyDB App recognizes these.

  • Hot Topic #. The barcode that the retailer Hot Topic adds to its products sold. It is particularly important for Hot Topic Exclusives as it often applies these stickers on the Manufacturer's own barcode stickers. The scanner on the hobbyDB App recognizes these.

    .
  • Sequential Series #.  Used for products that are sold in Series and that both have a Reference # and a number that identifies their position in a series, for example 2/10 or 6/10 for a Hot Wheels series with 10 models.
