One of the best parts of the hobbyDB experience is the ability to partner with and work alongside some of the most passionate minds in the collecting community. It has been our absolute honor and pleasure to work with one of most ardent collectors of our time, Zack Fisher. With the help of a team of global volunteers, Zack founded the Toy Collector App more than 15 years ago. In 2020, Zack decided to bring TCA to hobbyDB to unite two amazing databases and communities for the benefit of the collector.


Since coming together, the Squad has added 245,000 more new items to hobbyDB, dating from the 1970s to the present day. Some of our favorites include the likes of Star Wars, Marvel and Transformers figures. And don’t forget the more vintage lines such as Dino Riders, Food Fighters, and M.A.S.K — and much, much more.


We're excited to share that the time has finally come for us to merge into one overall App experience. This will allow us to make App and Database updates all in one place.


The experience may look a little different, but there are a lot of new features that you will be able to enjoy.

  • A Price Guide so you can see the value of specific items and also your overall collection
  • A Showcase so you can show your collection off to the world
  • 20x more items in the database and we're adding more every day
  • A Forum for discussions and data requests
  • A Barcode Scanner for super easy lookups
  • A dedicated Support Team that is always happy to help


IMPORTANT: You will still be able to access your collection for the next month on TCA. In order to help make the transition easier, we suggest that you download your collection now so that we can upload it for you into the hobbyDB App.


To take advantage of all of these new features, please - 


  1. Create a hobbyDB account
  2. Download your Collection in TCA
  3. Send your collection to support@hobbydb.com (and tell us about your Membername)
  4. We will import your collection into the hobbyDB Collection Management system for you


Once your collection is uploaded, you will be able to manage your collection on the hobbyDB App. If you decide that you would like to match your collectibles with the corresponding database items (so you can have real time pricing info and other updates), you can easily assign them with our Workbench tool. More on that here.


You will receive a notification when there is only a week left before we officially merge TCA with hobbyDB. Please do not wait until the last minute to transfer your collection!
