The Pin Masters were founded in 2001 and joined hobbyDB in 2019 together with was then the Hard Rock Pin Catalog. The Pin Master team consists of four roles, two of which are entry-level and always open to new teammates:
Hard Rock Pin Creators
Entry-level position that can add items and photos but not edit previously published listings. Designed to be a pathway to PMA. Also an option for collectors who want to publish items but do not want to be responsible for mastering Hard Rock publishing standards or managing assigned Hard Rock locations. The Hard Rock Pin Creator position, originally called Contributor, debuted in 2019. Both guidelines (for example here and mentoring are avaialble.
Pin Master Apprentices
Pin Masters in training (PMAs). PMAs learn the ins and outs of the database and prepare to be full PMs, aided by a PM mentor who gives guidance and answers questions. The PMA program was founded in 2019.
Pin Masters
PMs are collector leaders who ensure that Hard Rock pins from their assigned locations are added accurately to the database. The PM team was founded in 2001 and today includes the Pin Master Advisory Board and Pin Master Apprentices (see below).
Pin Master Advisory Board
The PMAB is the collector leadership team that guides the larger PM group. Primary purposes are ensuring accuracy and consistency across the Hard Rock database, creating standards for new pin series, and recruiting Pin Masters for Hard Rock locations. The board was founded in 2016.

As Hard Rock Cafe opens new locations, we are always looking to recruit collectors with the time and passion to help make sure that the Hard Rock pin database is accurate and up to date. We are so thankful for the folks who dedicate their energy to making the database the best resource out there for pin collectors worldwide. If you are looking to get involved, we would love to have you on board! The best way to get started is to join the Pin Master Apprentice program. This training program will teach you the ins and outs of the hobbyDB database and will prepare you to be a Pin Master. As a PMA, you will have a PM mentor who will help you and answer your questions.
