We developed some guidelines for blind boxes and the items that come packaged in them.

  1. We add the individual items as well as the sealed blind box itself (using the "Collectible Packaging" item type) since members could own one, or more likely sellers want to sell them.

  2. The blind box should have its UPC. The individual items don't need the UPC.

  3. All items that come in the blind box should be associated with it through the Packaging For/Packaged In relationship:




This way, a member scanning the blind box's UPC (using the hobbyDB App) can find all the items in it and once opened, can add the new item to their collection. The member can also change a blind box once opened by reassigning it to the right Database Item.
